Clarendon Insurance Group/Praetorian Insurance Group/QBE Specialty Insurance
At QBE, worked as a program manager and conducted audits of all workers' compensation programs
and administered agency appointments. At Clarendon, analyzed the suitability of the existing
underwriting operation to the company's new business plan. Designed a comprehensive, synergistic
underwriting structure focused on continual improvement of the underwriting process. Also conducted
audits for commercial casualty business including workers' compensation, general liability, auto and
excess casualty.
1997 – 2002 Vice President, Underwriting, Munich-American RiskPartners –
American Re-Insurance Company
Created a center of competence in primary insurance underwriting to support all AmRe business units.
Designed a primary underwriting authority structure to meld the respective skill sets of the primary and
excess underwriters. Duties included oversight of the underwriting operations of MGAs.
1994 – 1997 Senior Vice President, Insurance Operations – Guard Insurance Group
Designed and installed branch-oriented organization at corporate level, including job descriptions,
protocols for interactions, reporting routines, and audit procedures. Directed underwriting, marketing,
loss control, premium audit, and state filings/compliance departments.
1981 – 1994 Various Positions – Talegen Holdings (formerly Crum & Forster Corp.)
Responsible for property/casualty insurance coverage for the corporation and its subsidiaries.
Collaborated with actuaries in review of special pricing methodologies. Conducted field underwriting
audits and approved referrals. Directed underwriting of all commercial lines.

Various assignments of increasing responsibility in casualty underwriting, supervision, and management
